Burn Bright

Your work used to be more than a “job.” It was your purpose. It filled you with joy, but now you often think:

→ “My work performance is dropping, and people keep asking me if I’m ok.”

→ “I care about my clients . . . but also I kind of don’t. I’m running out of care.”

→ “I’m terrified that I will lose the ability to do what I love.”

→ “I avoid my friends and family—well, actually, people in general—whenever I can. I’m afraid I’m going to end up alone.”

→“I have permanent side-eye now for people who enjoy their lives. I can’t even look forward to the weekends anymore.”

→ “I’m so tired that at the end of the day, I can hardly manage to feed myself, never mind make time for my pet projects, hobbies, or dating.”

I am on a mission to help you overcome burnout so that you feel vibrant and engaged in your life and your career.

Why is it so important to me? Well . . .

Imagine if you . . .

● Walked into work each day excited to work with your clients/students/patients
● Felt those professional butterflies you first had when you fell in love with your career
● Had joy in your life again (I’m talking impromptu dance breaks and singing-in-the-shower-at-the-top-of-your-lungs kind of joy)
● Gave grace to your coworkers (fewer eye rolls, more smiles and productive conversations)
● Stopped taking mental vacations to Tahiti in the middle of your workday to avoid dealing with the pile of work in front of you
● Started and ended each day ON TIME and actually felt satisfied with what you accomplished
● Had more emotional space to reconnect with the people you love

Imagine waking up each day feeling energized and fulfilled by the work you do.
You can move from being burned out to burning bright in both your career and your life.

You can have that. Yes, really.

Burn Bright

Welcome to The Burn Bright Academy

This is a one-of-a-kind group coaching experience . . . inspired by you, my big-hearted, but burned out, helper.

The Academy was built to treat burnout in a lasting way by regulating your body, changing your mindset and channeling your intuition. It will marry the abstract and the intuitive with the practical and the grounded. No band-aid approaches here, my lovely . . . this course is led by a fellow big-hearted creative who is a licensed social worker certified in treating burnout. It’s designed to help you heal and create a path toward lasting results.

The Academy is a six-week program. We meet once a week for two-hour calls in a small group of no more than 20 amazing women like you.

In these group calls, we’ll have meaningful discussions together, but one of the unique aspects of The Academy is that you’ll have an opportunity to create connections in even smaller groups. These groups will be the same throughout the weeks and will go a long way toward creating a support system for you . . . and even lifelong friends. As we go through new concepts, you will get to practice what you learn in your own small group of no more than four women. This will create even more opportunities for you to feel supported and to practice some of the powerful tools and exercises we learn each week.

Beyond the group calls where we discuss the core content for the week, there is a private Facebook group. There you’ll get even more support from me and your peers in weekly Facebook lives. This will be a chance for you to ask any questions that have come up between group calls and get some loving accountability and support from the group. All of the larger group discussions and Facebook lives will be recorded for your use.

You can rekindle your passion for the career you love. You deserve to feel energized and confident in what you do.

Here’s what I know, from experience:

Burn out is something you can heal from, and it’s something you can prevent. But you have to take action.

This is where Burn Bright comes in.

There are tools to help you get there.
And here’s how I can help.

Week 01

What is Burnout?

Week one gets us on the same page about what burnout is and isn’t, and we take action right away to set you on a new path.

In this lesson we will:

• Define burnout: What does it look like? We’ll take a look at a symptom inventory to help you identify how burnout is showing up in your life.
• Learn how burnout, stress, and anxiety impact the body.
• Identify the degrees of burnout, and when it becomes a clinical diagnosis known as compassion fatigue.
• Take immediate action! We’ll get your stressed body feeling better with a simple exercise that will reduce symptoms of burnout and bring you relief in less than five minutes (yes, really).

Week 02

Find Your Why

Week two is all about remembering the reason you chose your field and also finding your mantra/purpose/mission in work and life. This sets a foundation for all the remaining weeks to come as we re-center you into living your values.

In this lesson we will:

• Go over your career timeline. This is a powerful way to identify hidden patterns that lead to burnout. You’ll complete a mission statement exercise.
• Share your timeline with your small group and reaffirm what your mission is in your work.

Week 03

Shift Your Thinking: 4 Thoughts to Change Your Work World

Week three focuses on four mindset shifts you need to make in order to prevent burnout.

In this lesson we will:
• Examine the shifts in thought required, namely:
- Who you are isn’t what you do
- There’s good news and bad news . . . the system sucks
- Why are you in this?
- What is work really about?
• Carry out an interactive exercise for you to discover which of these mindsets you are more likely to get stuck on, and how to get around it.

Week 04

Self-Care Done Right

This week is all about building a self-care plan that works!
In this lesson we will:
• Discuss what self-care is, and the common mistakes people make when they try to tackle a self-care plan all on their own.
• Learn the five components of an effective self-care plan:
- Self-care for the body
- Self-care for the mind
- Self-care for the heart
- Self-care for the soul
- Self-care for work
By the time you have completed this week, you will have a customized self-care journal and practice that will carry you through any situation. #BurnoutProof

Week 05

It Takes a Village: Building a Community of Support

In week five, our focus is on making sure you have accountability, company, and support during your journey toward burnout recovery. After all, no woman is an island.

In this lesson we will:

• Examine how to attract people in your life to be healthy supports.
• Discuss how to train the people you love to hold you accountable to your established goals.
• Learn how to identify and invest in people who are safe and able to give you the comfort you need.

Week 06

Putting It All Together

Week six is about taking all the lessons you’ve learned from the previous weeks and making them an ongoing, habitual part of your life.
In this lesson we will:
• Commit to the changes you’ll continue to make.
• Discuss how the group can continue this journey and keep supporting and holding each other accountable.

Ilona, University Professor

As a new mother, who has recently returned to work, I knew that I was suffering from burnout and that I felt as though my attention needed to be in various places at once. Kelley's mindful activities allowed for me to find different techniques to nurture myself.  I now have some tools to lean on when I feel myself reverting to my "old" ways.  Thanks so much Kelley!

Charla, Child Development Specialist.

Kelley Has been amazing to work with. She's great to talk to and has the best resources and strategies to help relieve burnout. I recommend Kelley to anyone who is feeling burned out!

Burnout is painful and scary. But here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to stay that way.

I know by now you’ve read tons of articles about burnout and seen lots of packages from other coaches offering a host of ways to deal with this. Maybe you’ve been let down by the lack of results. Maybe the thought of trying something (anything!) right now just feels overwhelming in itself.

I know what you’re feeling because I have been there. I have been a literal lump on the floor unable to move because of burnout. I’ve also been the person getting the massage WEEKLY and calling that burnout prevention because a professional told me that would work. I see you.

And I promise you I will do everything in my power to help you. This isn’t just a business to me. It truly is a mission to help you—yes you—dear one. You deserve to do what you love with joy. Let’s get your joy back.

How long is the program?

Six weeks with two-hour-long sessions, once per week.

When does the program start?

The Academy runs four times a year, beginning in January, April, July, and October. When you click "enroll," and before you make your financial commitment, you will be able to see the exact dates, times, and schedule the different sessions of The Academy run, and select the best fit for you

How many women are in it?

No more than 20 women. It’s very important to me that this be a group where I can know everyone’s name and that we can form groups and partnerships. You will be working in groups of no more than four and have partners of two throughout the week.

How do I know if it’s the right fit?

If you have resonated with what I have written so far, this group is for you. If you are a helping professional, struggling with burnout, looking for like-minded, supportive women, and this course isn’t going to break the bank . . . I would say go for it and sign up. If you are still on the fence, book a quick consultation call with me.

Do I receive support throughout?

YES! I am a certified burnout professional, and you will receive support from me via weekly Facebook Live drop-ins, where I answer any questions that are posted during the week between group sessions. But you’ll have a partner AND a group of three other women besides yourself that I hope you will come to lean on and create a support network through..

How much is the investment?

Twelve hours of group coaching, plus six hours of Facebook drop-ins, along with worksheets and helpful tools, and a community of like-minded women to support you, all for $897.

How is it different from other programs?

The Burn Bright Academy takes a unique approach to get you feeling better quickly with lasting results. The Academy is a blend of the professional and the creative. I love to give practical tools but have a creative, social, collaborative approach. Group will be a mix of class discussion and group breakouts with activities.

What is the time commitment?

Two hours a week. However, if for some reason you can’t make the group, the main “lecture” part of the group will be recorded, as will all the Facebook Lives.

Is there homework?

Yes. If you want to see some lasting results, you’re going to have to do some work. I will ask that you prepare for group by doing some of the activities. But will it be time intensive? It shouldn’t be. I know burnout is exhausting. This course isn’t meant to be. I want you to come to group excited and leave group with a smile on your face.

Who is this program for? Who is it NOT for?

This is for you if:
● You’re struggling with burnout and are looking for fun but practical solutions that WORK
● You’re looking to build a support network of like-minded women
● You’re ready for things to feel different and be guided by a certified burnout expert
It’s not a fit if:
● You’re not ready to make the changes needed to take care of yourself
● You’re a lone wolf and hate working in groups
● You’re willing to let things continue as they are, getting more tired, sick, and jaded

Too overwhelmed to make choices?
That's okay . . . I got you, dear one.
Let's have a real conversation and talk it through.

Is this right for me?
