Welcome to Monday, one of the most dreaded days of the week! If you are anything like me, you spend your weekend savoring every second, only to still watch it go by too fast. There are a few things that get me through a Monday. One of them is tea. I brew a cup at least once a day and on the weekends I drink tea nonstop. It is an important aspect of my self-care regime.
For me, tea is about taking a moment. A moment to breathe; Taking a moment to think. It’s about taking time to recharge. It’s no wonder then that I love Yogi tea so much. If you are a lover of Yogi tea, a cup of tea will give you more than a boost of energy, a moment of pause in your day. A cup of tea will give you inspiration! Each little tea bag gives you a thought for the day.
Today’s cup: You are unlimited.
“Am I?” I thought this morning. Monday feels like one of the most limiting days of the week. I feel limited by time, I never sleep enough in my opinion. I’m limited by what tasks I have to complete for my full-time job. And especially now, I feel limited by all the trips I still long to take.
I take a sip, I pause, and I reflect. How many of my limits are self-imposed? Am I dragging around this Monday morning because time has limited me? Or am I half asleep because instead of doing my stretches and my nighttime meditation, I spent my Sunday marathoning a TV show past bedtime? [side note: Disney + is ruining my life!]
So is there merit to taking advice from a teabag? How are we unlimited?
There is no denying that life gives us limitations. The rule of gravity, the rule of law, the rule of time. However, we do have a lot of freedom within these limits. We have the ability to choose how our lives turn out; to control how we spend each second of our day. We can make choices make each day to add up to our year. Our ability to choose is limitless.
What do you dream of? Maybe right now, you are dreaming of being curled up in bed. If you are, as I know I am, it’s just probably one of the many dreams you have in a day. And one of the million dreams you will have in a lifetime. There are so many thoughts that float through our heads. So many adventures our brains take us on in a day. And for every one of our dreams, there is a possible path to achieve them. We just need to be brave enough to pursue them. Because our dreams are limitless.
Love is an immense, scary, beautiful thing. We have so much love inside of us. Yes, So much love that it often leaves us overwhelmed when we feel the pain love can bring. But let’s not focus on that, let’s focus on how unlimited our ability to love is. We have the capacity to love places, people, animals, and objects. We can pour our love into a song or a book and just as easily turnaround and pour our love into a friend or a romantic partner.
My point is this: There are choices we make that reduce our freedom. But, at the core of it all, we are unlimited. We are free! Our minds create unlimited adventures for us to go on. Our hearts have an unlimited capacity to love. Each day is a fresh start. Each day presents a new opportunity to live more freely than before. We have the power to shape our lives and make them what we want them to be.
Not to get all deep on a Monday, but just a little reminder. When you are dragging yourself around begging for your cup of coffee. If you are sending up a prayer to give you the strength to get out of bed. When you are feeling powerless in your own life, remember the words of Yogi. So start that new project you’ve been putting off. Treat yourself to a small indulgence. Workout. Make time to spend with your partner or your children. Act on the one dream that scares you the most. Choose love.
Grab a cup of tea and take a sip. My darlings you are unlimited!
